Dr. Daniel Black

Dr. Daniel Black is a distinguished novelist, esteemed professor, and impactful public speaker, celebrated for his profound contributions to African American studies. Born and raised in a vibrant cultural landscape, he developed a deep appreciation for storytelling and the power of education at an early age. Dr. Black is a proud alumnus of Clark Atlanta University, where he now serves as a professor, inspiring the next generation of writers and scholars.
Since 1993, he has also held a position at Morehouse College, where he has dedicated his career to mentoring students, guiding them through their academic pursuits while nurturing their creative talents. Dr. Black's influence extends beyond the classroom; he is known for his dynamic approach to mentorship, incorporating community engagement and the arts into his teachings. His passion for directing choirs has allowed him to cultivate a sense of unity and collaboration among young people, enriching their lives with experiences that range from community theatre to meaningful service projects.

The Horne Brothers
The Oscar Micheaux Award
Byron, Ryon, and Tyson Horne, collectively known as The Horne Brothers, are an Emmy Award-winning filmmaking trio hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. With a deep-rooted passion for storytelling and a commitment to innovative production techniques, the Horne Brothers have carved out a distinctive niche in the film industry. Their production company focuses on creating projects that offer audiences an effervescent perspective on the filmmaking process, blending creativity with authenticity.
In 2024, their groundbreaking hip-hop documentary, “The South Got Something To Say,” earned them a Southeast Regional Emmy Award, solidifying their reputation as pivotal figures in the Southeast's film landscape. This documentary not only highlights the rich tapestry of Southern hip-hop culture but also showcases the Horne Brothers' ability to connect deeply with their subjects and audiences alike. Their work in the Metro Atlanta area spans decades, and they have consistently designed a blueprint for successful productions that empower creators to pursue their visions on their own terms.

Dr. Tangi Foster
The Drama Ministry Award
Dr. Foster is the founder and director of The Hallelujah Workshop Christian Performing Arts Ministry and has been its primary source of material for the last 26 years.
Her creative pursuits have garnered recognition both locally and beyond, inspiring audiences with messages of hope, resilience, and faith. Always seeking new ways to uplift and reach others, Dr. Foster’s work resonates across generations, weaving together tradition and innovation. Her commitment to nurturing artistic and spiritual talent is evident in the mentorship she provides to emerging writers, performers, and other spiritual leaders within her community. Through workshops, seminars, and collaborative projects, she has fostered a vibrant culture of artistic expression rooted in spiritual purpose.
She authored “Poetic Pearls of Inspiration” and, with the late Jmichael of SoundFlyte Productions, released the CD “The Cat’s Meow,” a musical-poetic exploration of the true depths of a woman’s heart.
She currently runs a YouTube channel featuring Bible study materials and “Auntie Tan, The Bible, Tea and Me,” short segments aimed at educating young Christians and those “young at heart.”
Most importantly, Dr. Foster is a Christian saved by grace through faith and dedicated to the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

However, in a heartfelt decision motivated by love for his family, Raul chose to step away from the bustling kitchens and high-pressure environment of the restaurant industry to focus on securing a brighter future for his son. This pivotal choice not only marked a new chapter in his life but also sparked a significant enhancement in the local theatre scene.
With a passion for the arts and a desire to foster creativity, Raul dedicated his time and resources to support and elevate the theatrical community in Metro Atlanta. Through his efforts, he has become an influential figure, advocating for artistic expression and providing opportunities for aspiring performers. His journey reflects a beautiful blend of culinary artistry and a commitment to nurturing the talents of the next generation, showcasing that true fulfillment often lies in pursuing one’s dreams for the ones we love.
